Topic: Broward County’s Hurricane Response and Recovery Plan
Speaker: Andrew G. Sebo, P.E., PTOE, Traffic Operations Engineer, Broward County Traffic Engineering Division
The Broward County Traffic Engineering Division (BCTED) operates and maintains a County-wide computer-controlled traffic signal system. BCTED also installs and maintains traffic control signs on the County roadway system, and on public local streets within municipalities with which the County has entered into Interlocal traffic engineering agreements. This presentation will provide an overview of BCTED’s Hurricane Response and Recovery Plan for traffic control infrastructure restoration, including recent improvements and upgrades to both operating and administrative aspects of the plan.
Andrew Sebo, Traffic Operations Engineer for BCTED, supervises the Division’s Traffic Studies Section. Andrew has over 25 years of traffic engineering experience in both public and private sectors, and has been with BCTED since 2003. His responsibilities for the Division include coordinating damage assessment efforts in response to declared emergencies, and he has been intricately involved in the development of hurricane response plans and policies.
